Shenandoah, West Virginia

About a month ago, my family met up with some other family from Maryland. We were staying at Shenandoah, West Virginia. The scenery was amazing and the fishing wasn’t to bad either. To read more about the fishing, check out this article on my Michigan blog:

Here are some more the of “scenery” pictures. I hope you enjoy them:

While fishing, I took this picture of heat lightning:

Towards the end of the vacation, we launched some chinese lanterns into the air and made a wish:

The Zoo with the cousins

A few weeks ago, my cousins came to stay with us for a week. For some reason I get invited to the zoo a lot and I usually weasel my way out of it. Since I don’t get to see my cousins that much, I decided to go. Might as well bring the SLR. Here are some of my favorites from the day. You can check the rest out on my facebook:

Beautiful Ludington, Michigan

My blog from a week in Ludington, Michigan

Great Lakes Edge

When I was a little guy my parents would take me camping at a place called Ludington State Park. We went with their young married bible study. We did that for many years. This place was probably what started my love for the outdoors.  We ended up fading a way from the tradition but our family friends continue the tradition with their own families. The past couple years we have started going back and reconnect with old friends. This year I reconnected with one of our friends son. Turned out he liked fishing so naturally we got along and spent some hours fishing. He also proposed to his girlfriend on the Ludington Pier. What a place to do that…

For me, the weekend started off fishing with my friend Luke, his dad and their buddy. I left south-east Michigan around 12:30 to put me in Pentwater at 4:10. The fishing…

Canadian Skies-Part 2

I started writing part one of this blog while I was in Canada but never got around to posting it. It then started to rain the last 5 days and I didn’t know if I was going to be able to shoot any more pictures. I did shoot some pictures while inside of pets. Needless to say, the rain let up on our last day and I was able to shoot some more of New Brunswick beauty.

When you travel as much as I do, traveling plans don’t always seem to work out. Usually, delays are caused my transportation failures or cancelled flights. This time, it had nothing to do with transportation, sort of. Thursday when we were suppose to come home, my Grammy woke up sick. Driving the 18 hours home would have been miserable for her, so we held off. Then the sickness slowly made its way through the family. My mom started to feel nausea and then around 4 PM, I was down for the count. We ended up not leaving til 8 AM the next day, 26 later then we wanted. Of coarse, when we finally get going, we hit this traffic.

It turns out a truck ran into another truck and blew up. Unfortunately, the trucker who ran into the other trucker passed a way.

If you read my last blog post, you probably have seen all the pictures added to this gallery. If not, here is the rest of the pictures:

I also have completed another video I am trying to upload to YouTube. Once that is completed I will be making another blog post. Hopefully sometime today!

Canadian Skies

Last week I was in New Brunswick Canada visiting family. Of course the Nikon D5100 came with me.  I haven’t been back to Canada in about 15 years so I didn’t know what to expect when I got there. It was a whole different world out there. It was very green, rolling hills and amazing sunsets. Potatoes farms everywhere. Here are some pics from the vacation. More to come later.

There was so much amazing opportunity for great pictures. I suggest you check out my facebook for the rest 🙂

More New Brunswick pictures to come later!

Happy 4th of July everyone!

Spring Time

Spring use to be just another season to me. Everything started off ugly and slowly turns green, really green. Since I moved to the country I have began to enjoy spring. Every where you turn there seem to be new life. The eggs are hatching and animals are giving birth to babies. I was mowing the lawn the other day and came across a hole in the ground. It looks as if a bunch of baby turtles were born. I ran to the post office to send a package and seen a doe with a new-born fawn in the middle of a field. Pretty cool!

We have a baby fawn running around our property. I have been enjoying watching it on my field cameras when ever I get videos of it. I hope to get some pictures of her soon. Here is a short video of the fawn:

I have been riding my bike a lot lately. I made a time-lapse with a Go Pro. I was riding around the block.

I haven’t taken a lot of pictures lately do to a possible move and a new business venture. Here are the few that I took the last couple of weeks. I know my grammy will like the first photo.

Birthday Weekend in Northwestern, Michigan

My birthday came and went. Since I do a lot of work in the outdoors, I am usually working on Memorial day weekend. That was not the case this year. I did shoot some pictures but I don’t really call that work. This year I was able to spend my Birthday up north at Interlochen State Park. We traveled all around the northwest part of the state. It made for a great weekend. If only I got to catch some fish.

This female duck decided to lay eggs right next to our camp.

We love to spend time in Frankfort and Elberta.

Fishtown, USA and Mothers day Wine Tasting

Last weekend my brother was coaching a soccer game in Traverse City. We decided to make a weekend out of it. I decided to bring the SLR in search of some pictures for my calendar I am making. Our first stop on Saturday was Leeland aka “Fishtown.” My family has a lot of history at this place. My mom was brought to Fish town as a young girl where her Mom would paint amazing pictures. Unfortunately for me I never was able to meet her. However, we have her paintings all around our house. I also have some in the basement for when I buy my own house. I remember being a very young fisherman and seeing a monster salmon in one of the shops. Salmon fishing then became a disease for me and I go every chance I get. I have taken a beautiful girl on an amazing date. I have spent sometime fishing the river and lake and we visit it every chance possible. I love this place!

After we were done visiting Fish town, we decided to do a little wine tasting on the way back. I had a lot of fun taking these pictures.
